Trees

I sprained my ankle last week so haven't been very mobile. Because I had a lot of down time, I decided to make some cards around the theme of trees. Trees have always fascinated me, the spread of their branches, and the intricate design of their leaves. And, at Christmas time, trees take on a whole new appearance. Hope you like my trees.

The Yelling just won't stop...

I'm referring to my scrap pile of course. It's amazing how quickly that neatly organized colour coordinated pile of scraps gets a mind of its own. First one or two pieces of paper on the floor, then more--and with each there is a corresponding murmur - until there is a cacaphony of noise coming from my craft room.
Yesterday I couldn't stand it any longer. I started reorganizing, and brutually tossing out scraps of paper of one colour, then another, until today the box is once again tidy --and its quiet!!! And I now have a new standard as to what is acceptable to keep in the scrap bin.
My recycling box is brimming- Thank goodness tomorrow is pick up day.
Will this task never end?

Flower soft - an ambiguous name

The latest rage in cardmaking is flowersoft. Flowersoft is a material that reminds of me of insulation, kind of flaky and crumbly, and it comes in many colours. Apply it with a bit of clear drying tacky glue and your picture is transformed. Here are some examples.

Using the Cricut...what a die-cutting experience

This card is based on a card I made at out team meeting (SU) last Saturday. I don't have the Big Shot die, so I improvised using my Cricut. This is the result. I'll post the picture later as the program is not responding.

Emboss resist - what fun

I loved the technique so much I made 2 more cards. Isn't this reindeer cute? Why am I posting Christmas cards? Well, I'm not much in the mood right now, but I have several shows booked, and an order came in yesterday.

I belong to a Yahoo group called O-R-S-A (Ontario Rubber Stamping Artists) and every month we learn a new technique. This month it was emboss resist - and the resultant tag send to a partner - and I get one back from another person. It's really very well organized. I participate as much as possible. There are also card swaps every month.
